The Rohnert Park Priority Development Area (PDA) plan comprises 282 acres, including the Rohnert Crossings site. Formed by the City, the PDA's function is to recognize the potential
and need for development and investment in the area to ensure economic vitality for the City of Rohnert Park. The plan focuses on creating a new Civic Center and fully utilizing
the new SMART rail system that is coming soon. SunCal is pleased to be a partner in the PDA by getting the redevelopment of the former State Farm site moving forward to help create
a new downtown for the City.
The City created the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) and the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), and SunCal is an active member of both. The CAC collects and shares input from the Rohnert Park community and provides advice on the development of key elements of the PDA plan. This group ensures that the voice and priorities of the community are addressed and given opportunity to help design the future of Rohnert Park. The TAC is comprised of technical experts from the City, regional public agencies and private sector firms. As a member, SunCal attends the meetings hosted by each group and helps generate discussion on development standards. Through our participation, we have come to better understand what the community would like to see in Rohnert Crossings while acknowledging the technical aspects necessary to make their ideas a reality.
